FAQs

Get answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.

What is a medspa?

Medspas offer medical grade aesthetic procedures in a relaxing environment.  Such treatments can include Botox Cosmetic for wrinkles in the upper face, fillers for restoring volume loss in the face, laser therapies for repairing sun damage, laser hair removal, acne therapy, and medical-grade facials and peels. In addition, Medspas are able to sell medical-grade skin care products that further enhance the benefits of the procedures they offer.

Are there any side effects after injectables?

The most common side effects are temporary, and may include: tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. These side effects are consistent with other facial-injection procedures. Icing after injections highly reduces these side effects.

Will I look overdone after Botox?

You should not look overdone or lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by a licensed, trained, medical expert in facial anatomy. At Stay Beautiful Medspa, all injectables are done by a Registered Nurse with many years of experience. We always have a consultation prior to treatment with clients to discuss the desired results.

Do injectables hurt?

It feels like a tiny pinch, however, we do offer an effective numbing cream and ice to help with any discomfort. Icing and elevating 24-48 hours after injections will decrease any pain, swelling or bruising.

How long do results of injectables last?

Results may vary, but can last up to one year. Many clients like to replenish their look after 6-9 months.

What happens in the office right before injectable treatments?

The nurse will first have you fill out a medical history form as well as ask about any allergies you may have. Then you will discuss treatment goals. She will walk you through the treatment and tell you what to expect, if there are any side effects, as well as after care (if any). She will also assess your skin and may take before and after photos, if client approves. Numbing cream will also be applied 15 minutes before injections.

How often should I get a facial?

It is ideal to see your esthetician every 4-6 weeks, especially if you are treating acne. It is so important to have a consistent skin care routine!

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

We are happy to provide you with a complimentary consultation. We understand every skin type is different and every client has unique, specific skin care needs. Let us give your skin a proper examination to give you the best results moving forward.

What is the difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal?

Although both treatments take multiple sessions to see desired results, laser hair removal is faster during the actual treatment. Electrolysis hair removal requires more time because it’s a process that treats only one hair at a time, whereas laser hair removal treats many hairs per every laser pulse.

What if I need to cancel?

We respectfully request 24 hours notice for any cancelled appointments because we reserve staff, equipment and rooms just for you. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or fail to show up for your appointment, you will be subject to a $35 fee and will be required to give a deposit when booking any future appointments. Please view the “policies” tab to read all of our medspa policies.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Our gift cards make a wonderful gift. It is a special way to show how much you care, or express appreciation. You choose the denomination. (Gift cards are non-refundable.)
